Your patients may wonder what a little extra juice could do for them... several may already be obtaining it elsewhere. Here's what you should know when having these conversations.

  1. Sexual Function:

    • Testosterone supplementation for men with normal or low testosterone levels and sexual dysfunction did not improve any sexual dysfunction symptoms.

  2. Strength/Energy:

    • Further review studies reported no significant difference in grip strength, cognition or fatigue levels.

    • There was, however, a 1.6 kg lean body mass increase for patients with testosterone supplementation.

  3. Cognition: No difference in cognition

  4. Quality of life & harms: No clinical difference in symptom score

    • The most notable side effects found were an increase in pulmonary embolism and atrial fibrillation.
